Over the summer of 2025, I was a design intern for AEG. While there, I helped playtest and contributed to the development of Electrify, Let’s Go to France, Into the Machine, Mystic Lands, and an as-yet unreleased game. I playtested weekly or more and gave my feedback on these in-development games.
I also migrated the rules and cards for Smash Up to an online wiki as part of Smash Up’s move to print-on-demand. This required transcribing all of the cards for 80+ factions and the images for them, as well as moving over any rules clarifications and noting if they had been errata’d. In addition to AEG developers, I also worked with top Smash Up players who helped ensure that all necessary information was included in the wiki.
Smash Up Wiki
It was a great experience - I got to learn firsthand how games are pitched, developed, and published. Participating in pitch evaluations in particular was very valuable, as I learned the specific bits and pieces of what a publisher is looking for in a game.
